Dari manakah asalnya gambar2 nih ? Definitely not from me. Hehe.. I told my students to go on a holiday after their finals to refresh, rejuvinate and rewind (sepatutnya unwind tapi nak jugak the re- hehehe ).

After giving their Test 1 results, ada yang muka2 hampa, muka2 terkejut, muka2 (aku dah agak dah), and ada yg muka whatever... So I gave them a little boost in their confidence.. I don't think I am their favourite lecturer and I definitely teach their least most favourite subject, hehe.. But I think I can dive into their minds a little and put myself in their shoes. So I try my best to be the one lecturer that they are not afraid of to ask questions at the same time not the one they can mess around with.. (not an easy job, really) .. But its a teaching and learning process.. everyday i teach and i learn new characters, new tricks, old tricks (been there, done that), new perspective, new ideas on how to make the learning experience exciting and memorable. Only that, the one who evaluates me (SKT aka dalam bhs omputih is KPI) are the ones who never entered my class. based on surveys conducted during the end of the semester. where students just tick 5, 5, 5, 5, 5, if they like the lecturer or 1,1,1,1,1 for their least favourite lecturer.

In statistics, to test the reliability of the survey data is through Cronbach alpha. but how sincere are we when we answer survey forms? being a statistician myself, when i answer survey, i can say that 80% of the time I am honest, the rest of the time, i just wanna finish it quickly and get it over with. but there are times that i really answer the survey honestly when i feel that they can benefit from it. with the hopes that from that data, they can somehow formulate a new solution for the issue addressed in the survey.

Anyway, I'm thinking of changing to DiGi. Since I can maintain my supercool number.. hehehe.. Or should I wait for other networks to announce their MNP and see which gives the superlowest offer ?


Gimme your thoughts DiGi people ? Will they follow me ? Like everywhere ? Even in my campus yg jauh dan selalu takde line Maxis itu ? Seems like all networks are all out in marketing their services. I think at one point, the sms service will be free... will they ? u think ? remember in 2000, smses used to be 30sen and for one darned misscall yang sempat diangkat will cost you 60sen. and a frigging prepaid costed me rm238! i can top up a few ringgit and almost buy new lenses! that was the value at that time..

heh, remember the days without hp ? and public phones ? and meeting up in a middle of kl and not get lost? those days were based on trust, punctuality and public phones.. i think we took for granted that since mobile phones are well... mobile, we tend to procastinate and became less punctual. cause it's just a phone call away. so these days are based on handphones, smses and.. internet.. which is not a bad thing if we use it wisely..

my discovery again : yuna

I discovered this somewhere early this year.. I have been searching (no la not really) searching la jugak for this gurl. She is very talented. Heard that she performed in a lot of places but never had the chance to see her in person.

maybe you can check her out. her EP will be out soon. can't wait to buy it. it's nice to listen to some 'real music' from our local people.

she's one talented girl. she sings and plays piano and guitar just like she's breathing. look out for Yuna.

Sobani Iteyo

I wake up to the voice of Usher and Beyonce serenading me with In This Club (remix) every morning. Only this morning, i felt very weak and lazy to wake up but i have to.

I was on MC for two days due to fever and takdak suara. how to lecture ? I took the opportunity to rest and regain my energy since i had a hectic week last week.

The weekend was also hectic. On Saturday, we woke up early to go to Shah Alam for my cousin's engagement ceremony. (Congratulations Khaleefur!! if you're reading this). The day went on till night. Beraya sana sini, orang datang and stuff. Same goes for Sunday. Only that we went to KL area: Gombak and Selayang. and then head back home since people called saying they wanted to beraya kat rumah (Sorry Shazzain tak dapat gi open house umah ko sbb ada orang datang non stop).

I don't know if its me or what, but I want so much to have my long vacation. I'm listening to Long Vacation's Sobani Iteyo from the external hard disk that he gave me. Ada 15G of mp3s okay.. hehe and a downloaded collection of my favourite tv show 30rock and numb3rs :) thanks b.

I guess that's why i needed the 2 days mc.. to have my short vacation.. Hopefully I will get my long vacation again insyaAllah.. (bila la nak amek cuti lame lame ni...)

Now lagu Close to you, piano version played by Sena. Lovely piece. I played this during Burhanuddin Helmi's annual dinner in UKM in 2001. Sayangnya, the notes tak tau letak kat mana. And my piano is so out of tune. I am thinking of asking Uncle Nazri to tune my piano.. sbb susah pulak nak tune guitar if my piano is out of tune, kan?

I wanna be the old Dora again. I wanna write passionately, I wanna play music with feelings, I wanna smile when I see the sun, I wanna have my Long Vacation.. I wanna go to Redang one day and swim and go snorkling (spelling mcm ne ek) and see the underwater world.. I wanna go to Penang and eat by the beach. and take pictures of nature and people.

Ayat - Ayat Cinta

Today's faculty meeting started with Dr.K quoted from surah Al-An'am ayat 95.

Verily! It is Allâh Who causes the seed­grain and the fruit­stone (like date­stone, etc.) to split and sprout. He brings forth the living from the dead, and it is He Who brings forth the dead from the living. Such is Allâh, then how are you deluded away from the truth?

Dr.K too mentioned about Islamization Knowledge and how we as an educator can synthesize the ethics of Islam in knowledge and its application.

I had a good time watching Ayat - ayat cinta.. it had brought tears in my eyes watching how sincere yet beautiful love is in the eyes of Islam. I also learned that taaruf or dalam bahasa Indonesianya dibilang "perkenalan". dan ada kalanya perkenalan itu sukses atau ngak.

A very refreshing and enlightening movie. It made me cry, it made me think, it made me learn.. how beautiful ayat - ayat cinta is.. In the eyes of Islam..

I have decided to membuat rangka kerja for my 2009's new year's resolution.. but before that, I'd wanna refresh this year's based on my post earlier this year 2008's new year's resolution

=MY BIG R=

1. To cook at least ONCE a week ON A WEEK DAY atau hari yang bekerja
>> more like ONCE a month.. and ada one month tu.. like more than once.. so.. i think it's better than nothing rite ? the hari yang bekerja bit, susah sket.. penah skali jer.. masak maggi ?

2. To mcm meng-make up make up kan diri sedikit sebanyak
>> nicely DONE. ;)

3. To buy at least 1 pair of baju a month
>> this one dah kurangkan coz $ perlu dichannelkan pada benda yang lebih penting..

4. To save up $ to go to Europe specifically Germany to see BB

5. To learn one word a day
>> done. cuma not one word a day.. but not bad gk la.. and not only in English, other languages too.. mainly German, and abit of Tamil (baru start) :p

6. To find a specific field, cari betul2 university to further my studies

Jadi apakah resolution-resolution baru yang boleh dimasukkan dalam my new year's resolution ? Its 3 more months till the year ends!! gosh.. time flies... when you're having fun! hehehe.. perhaps i will need time to think about it..

Loving and living each and every second. I told my students, life is just too short for you to carry negative vibes.. make the best of it.. and i quoted from Green Day's song.. lagu yg sering dinyanyi2kan mase zaman2 SPM98.. (igt tak Atik?)

A lot of things happened through out the year.. I am thankful to Allah for that.. Had a blast in Penang, spend a weekend with my family in PD, experienced studio photography with a professional photographer.. SLR :) .. research projects, business, bb babuji and meaningful events.. :)

I hope and pray for good things throughout the year and many2 years to come.. I also hope and pray for good things to happen to good people.. so let's start on our new year's resolution earlier so that when the clock strikes 12, you'll become a better person.. and not a person just working on it.. good luck!

Betul! betul sangat meg!

The day started with my room mate saying "I just learned something yesterday.. ". see my room mate and I, we like to have conversations that are intellectual and mind stimulating.. and sometimes I like to splash in a little bit of gossip :p hehe.. tapi di hujung gossip itu selalunya ada some conclusion yang bole menyedarkan kita.

"I learned that you cannot push a guy to do something.. In fact, you cannot push anyone to do anything. If they wanna do it, has to be from them.. not when you push them."

I learned that the more you push people, the more that you are pushing them away. Guys especially. There's this unwritten rule about guys.. they need their own space.. see, i never really understood what kind of 'space' are they really referring to ? but i guess i am learning now and as you mix around with other people who are mature, you tend to develop that maturity as well.. and i learned that the 'space' that they were referring to is actually time.. time and space.. like in physics..

Being in a LDR for 3 years now, the time factor is very vital. we have a difference of 6 hours and both are busy chasing their dreams and career but at the same time we want to have that quality time together. so there are a lot of sacrifices that has to be made, understanding each other's situation and trust. Sacrifices has to be made out of sincerity and tidak diungkit later on. Understanding needs time and maturity.. and trust has to be gained. Even at 3 years, we are still learning about each other. I'd like to put it just like my quality assurance thingy, it's a life long learning experience.. for me, i appreciate knowledge.. even if my room mate is telling me about culturing bacteria called Rhoduccocus (tak sure spelling), I'd like to appreciate it even though sometimes I might not comprehend apekah sebenarnya Rhoducocus itu but it's Allah's gift for us and the fact that someone is experimenting it is somewhat amazing! a very small tiny bacteria means a whole lot to a person.. so I value the things that people share with me.. it's always interesting..

So back to my room mate's statement. Nodoby likes to be pushed to do something. That's why they tend to push it back further.. especially guys.. and sekeras keras hati lelaki, mereka lagi sukar untuk di-push to do something they do not want.. that's why when they dah lembut hati, you should appreciate it.. Ini semua kejadian Allah swt.. siapalah saya sebagai insan yang kerdil ini untuk meng-question people's heart.. (tiba2 mcm bunyi orang yang dalam movies who narrates the story.. hehe).. I sometimes a little bit of patience make a BIG difference.. :) I do not want to elaborate more on that.. because it is abit too personal for me..

I guess sometimes there are things that are private and personal I'd like to keep it to myself and only to the people who matters to me... the things that really matters are only for the people who matters to me.. you know who you are and what I mean :)

But when you do something that comes from the heart, and with the blessings of people who love and care about you, it becomes more meaningful.. and special.. Regardless of what other people say.. and these people do not know what your plans are or what you are going through.. sometimes they say it out of jealousy or just wanna just cucuk you.. I learned from my parents that you do what is best for you and not for others. I learned from my significant other, not to listen to others, just do what is right for you..

A reminder for me, my best friend Sheri (who will be flying off to Perth soon, gonna miss you babe.. don't listen to other people.. you want this.. and you will get this.. you have worked so hard for it.. and now the time is almost here.. I pray for your success there and hope to see you on D-day! hehe"
and for the best room mate ever, Meg.. (do not listen to others.. this is your dream.. go chase it! follow your instincts, believe in your destiny and fight for your dreams!)

I am thankful to Allah that I am blessed with my loving, the superbestest and supportive family, a loving, caring and understanding partner, lots of good friends who stood by me through thick and thin.. seriously.. It was Allah who had arranged the time and space for us to meet in this life..
and everything that happened .. just happened.. it was never planned and never pushed :)
