Ok so this is actually a continuation from the previous post titled tukar channel. Ever wonder how do the Malaysian artists ever make it ? kalau mcm their periuk nasi (yang sering diperdebatkan di dalam melodi) is based on their sales of album, ok la ada la sket2 kot siapa yang rajin buat live shows plus royalty.. tp.. what happens now that :-

1. Sales of album dah jadi kurang la coz now u can get the MP3 file of the songs.. either legally or illegally? who will go to tower records or music valley now that you can easily get it through the internet ?

2. Live shows? Sekarang kan ada banyak show2 yang free i.e. SureHeboh, JomHeboh, Konsert Hotlink, Konsert Hari Merdeka, Konsert New Year, dll (this point has been raised from Andy Flop Poppy in Melodi) .... kalau dapat pun from sponsors la but how much can you get from sponsors ? Okla so there's secretary's week and all... but I've worked with event management people before, nak bayar artist takde la sampai RM 10,000 per show.. ok so if you're Adibah Noor or Jacklyn Victor, mmg la orang nak.. what happens to Rohana Jalil or kumpulan lain2 yang senyap from the industry ?

3. Ok royalty from MACP .. but nowadays, when people perform, jarang perform lagu org mesia kan ?

PS: Just for the record, I'm not an avid follower of Melodi. Tp it's just that everytime I tune in on the show, perkara yang sama diperdebatkan....

I wonder how does Faizal Tahir's hair is so nicely combed. Dia pakai syampoo apa aa? I met FT in person and he's a very down to earth guy.. perhaps all artists are cause if they're not, they'll lose their fans.. and here in Mesia, artists really have to struggle to make it in the industry..

Ever wonder why the artist omputih can still buy their X5s and own a big mansion like the ones in MTV cribs even when there are a lot of piracy ? Kenapa artist Malaysia asik2 argue the same thing in Melodi tv3 hari ahad... memperjuangkan artis tempatan ? asik2 ckp kenapa org kite nak dgr lagu omputih lagu indon.... hello?? ever heard of quality music ? in my personal opinion, nowadays susah nak dpt really quality musicians kat mesia.... boleh kira dgn tangan...

Yup. I think i need to use this a lot. Especially when im involved in a LDR. with different time zone and stuff..

So i was driving back from picking up my brother at LRT when Norah Jones' Don't Know Why was on light and easy.. and suddenly i imagine myself in a coat walking along the street somewhere in a foreign land while the wind is blowing through my hair .. (eh pakai tudung laa.. tukar scene) blowing through my scarf. it's almost autumn and the leaves are dancing gracefully down from the tree.. and im holding a Starbucks' Hot Chocolate in one hand.. and another hand tugging nicely in my significant other's arms. and then he snatches my hot chocolate and sips it dengan penuh selambe while teasing me..

waah wudn't it be nice~

too much movies and novels ? perhaps...
missing him ? definitely.. :(

Kudos to Norah Jones who did a great job in bringing me to a place where i haven't been to in a while... my imagination...

just like those prada bags

Bila berdoa, hendaklah specific. Bila berkata - kata, hendaklah ikhlas. kerana kata - kata itu adalah doa..

It amazes me that how people are trying so hard to be down to earth/ humble (so called) up to a point when they share to everyone that they're leading a very sad and difficult life.. aku orang susah, aku takde duit, aku kerja mcm nak mati pun aku takde duit.. semua bende susah, semua bende tak dapat.. ko senang la.. ko ada itu, ko ada ini, ko takde tu, ko takde ni.. aku ada tu, aku ada ni.. aku susah.. ko senang.. I guess they splash those kind of remarks and statements with the hopes of others feeling sorry for them (usually it works).

It's different really. When someone is genuine or not. Just like those Prada bags you see at Jalan Bukit Bintang.

I am not a pious person but my parents thought me to be grateful even though you are going through obstacles in life.. there are other people who are going through tougher times.. I know I know.. I wrote about this so many times before.. but I can't help but writing it again as a reminder to myself.. as an eye opener..

Well hey, everbody has problems. I have my own.. I get angry or upset or depressed or sad sometimes but I guess I prefer to keep it to myself. Cause I experienced trusting the wrong people.. And I ended up being angry and frustrated of my bad judgment. Not because of that person, but because I trusted too much.. Ikhwan said to me once, "too much of something is not good."

I think I do not enjoy negative vibes kot. Well, at least not now. Not when I have sprained my ankle (again) with a stomach ache to go with it. Morrie says on emotions, "Embrace it. Detach from it."

Can I not embrace negativity now?

save the pendrive, save the world

I read on my colleague's Skype status : "save the pendrive, save the world". A story about pendrive, my room mate recently misplaced her pendrive and yesterday SMSed me when she found it at the most unexpected place.

What got me to write this entry is that it got me thinking about how bizzare it is that anything that is almost everything can be kept in such a small device.. a pendrive. Just like what Azman said, "save the pendrive, save the world".. perhaps, my room mate's world was saved when she was united with her pendrive..

A story to share, I twisted my ankle... again, today at our PKP. Left leg this time.. only that it wasn't as bad compared to last time..

Another story to share, a student came over and asked for his paper to be remarked. He failed and his CGPA dropped to less than 2.00. Now he can't get PTPTN loan for this semester. So he asked me nicely if I could help him out.. Predicament, predicament.. We followed the procedure. He had to pay some amount of $ for his paper to be rechecked, only to find out that his marks were lower but the grade didn't change. So when I called him to tell him the news, he was begging me and telling me that he is orang susah, mak dia tak sehat, nak sponsor adik, ayah dia pencen..

As a human being, I felt his pain and problem. As a lecturer who tries to think straightly and logically, I thought, well, if he really is an orang susah as he claimed, perhaps, he should've struggled for his finals. Nak citer, orang susah, ada orang lain lagi susah bole jer score..

I don't know, is it my fault ? Did I not teach well ? He never came and see me and talked about his problems. He never came for consultation. How far can a teacher do to teach ? How far will a student go to succeed in their studies ?

Looking at his results he got C, C+,C- somewhere around there.. Was it me who did not do my job ? I guess even if I have saved his results in my pendrive, I can never really save someone else's world...

now THIS is my 199th post

Ok now THIS is my 199th post. I had to delete one of the posts because of some reason that i do not want to reveal here.

Updates : I'm 27 now! yippie. Why am I so happy being 27 ? I guess I am thankful to Allah that I am healthy, and I am happy that I have my loving and supporting family, loving and caring Ikhwan and great friends surrounding me. Alhamdulillah.

I decided not to dread aging, instead, embrace it. After watching my dear late nephew, Rafiq, who suffered a terminal disease, how he was happy to see everyone although he was sick, I realized that being healthy is a blessing that we should all be thankful for. Being able to walk, talk and think and live for another day to appreciate Allah's creation is a wonderful gift.

I am still reading Tuesdays with Morrie. Absorbing every life lesson and every quote. I guess when you have a positive vibe, you sorta bring that aura to everyone. Which is why I try to avoid negative thinking people so that I won't bring myself down. I can't deny, there are times that I am down, but I appreciate that feeling and detach myself from it after thinking and praying.

So, here's a Happy 27th Birthday to me (6th May 1981).

I have developed a strong interest in rings nowadays.. Fell in love with this the first time i saw it [even on the internet]... It's like love at first sight (refer to dyanna's blog believe it.. its true.. women do experience love at first sight on sales items. for me, jewelleries and shoes.. plus handbags too... maybe pants and blouse.. kain ela pun... books too! and chocolates... ok the list goes on... ) Anyways, Hope I can own it one day.. I like white gold or platinum.. diamonds & platinum to be exact.. they're just gorgeous..

Sometimes, i drop by Poh kong, just to act as though I am buying.. saje saje try some RM25k diamond ring.. just to feel how it feels like to have it on.. i know i can't own it (for now at least) hehe but at least i can try.. hehehe pathetic ay ?

Sugarless ?

I spoiled myself this month with chocolates. And its only the 3rd of May! Shout out to my cousin Kak Mimi who's celebrating her birthday today! After payday, i treated my parents at Secret Recipe where we had a slice of Chocolate Indulgence, Carrot Cake and Blueberry Cheese Cake. Not getting enough sugar, i bought myself 3 bars of Kinder Bueno. I've always been told that this chocolate is scrumptious but never really experienced it for myself.

So I dropped by at Watson on a Tuesday night and grabbed some Kinder Bueno. My God! It tasted soo good I went and buy another 6 bars the next day. Even my mom loves it !!

Still feeling abit sugarless, today I bought 6 packets of Chocolate Dadih at the store next to AVON. I'm going sugar crazy! Ok so I have to add another label which is "food" since I foresee that i will be blogging alot out it later on.. Hehe

Oh yes, please visit my sister in law's cupcake shop (online) to order your cupcakes ok :)

Since we're on the subject, I managed to cook our family's famous Beef Stew today! and it turned out nice.. hehe alhamdulillah yeay!
